Still awaiting his Nottinghamshire First-Class Debut

Consistent performances through the various county age groups and in second eleven cricket has earned Ben Kitt his first professional contract ahead of the 2017 season.

The proud Cornishman is a promising right-arm fast bowler and more than useful lower order batsman. His career progression brought him over 100 wickets in all matches for the academy and the second eleven during 2016 but injury disrupted last season.

After picking up a five-wicket haul in last April’s pre-season friendly against Glamorgan in Cardiff, the chances of him making a first class debut were increased but he was denied that opportunity when a back injury was diagnosed as a stress fracture, ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Now back string and fit, he has good aggression and a fast bouncer and under the tutelage of Peter Moores, Paul Franks and Andy Pick should fulfil most of the goals set for him for this season.
